NOLA - WIRE Chair

WIRE chair and table.

Swedish furniture manufacturer Nola received the ICFF Editors Award for Best Outdoor Furniture at the International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF) in New York on May 15, 2005.
Selected designs from Nola’s collection of outdoor furniture received acclaim at ICFF yesterday as they were distinguished by one of the fair’s annual awards. The judges based their decision on Nola’s Wire table and chairs designed by Mats Aldén and the Tall rubber planters designed by Johannes Norlander. Nola’s products were exhibited on the SWEDISH BY DESIGN booth, a project initiated by the Swedish Trade Council’s New York office and the Consulate General of Sweden in New York to promote Sweden’s design manufacturers.

Nola has a long history of developing award-winning products for gardens, schools, shopping malls, parks, and other parts of the urban landscape. Each product is made in collaboration with one of Sweden’s leading designers, and many blur the boundaries between functional form and sculptural shape. Although most of Nola’s furniture is manufactured to be robust enough for outdoor use, many pieces have an unassuming delicacy that makes them perfectly suited to the interior as well. Constructed from sleek metal, flexible rubber or polished wood, Nola’s latest collection comprises a palette of striking shapes that reinvent traditional outdoor furniture as multi-purpose pieces.
Nola’s products are crafted to look streamlined and chic, revealing the ease with which luxury and functionality can be combined.
Nola’s award-winning products, together with a selection of leading designs from
Swedish manufacturers, are showcased on booth number 1048.

ICFF is held at Jacob K Javits Convention Center, 655 West 34th St, New York, New York 10001.
